2008 Ryder Cup - 09.16.2008

Call to make your reservation now while we still have availability 866-641-EDGE. ----The Ryder Cup is a golf trophy contested biennially in an event called the "Ryder Cup Matches" by teams from Europe and the United States. The Matches are jointly administered by the PGA of America and the PGA European Tour. --The competition began following an exhibition match in 1926 of a team representing American professionals against a similar one representing the British PGA on the East Course, Wentworth Club, Virginia Water, Surrey, UK. --Early matches between the two sides were fairly even, but after the Second World War, repeated US dominance[1] led to a decision to extend the representation of the British & Irish[2] team to Europe in 1979. This change was partly prompted by the success of a new generation of Spanish golfers of the time including Severiano Ballesteros. He and Antonio Garrido were the first Spaniards to play in the event in 1979. Europe has also been represented since then by players from Denmark, France, Germany, Italy and Sweden. --As a result of this change the event has enjoyed more competitive matches, with Europe winning seven times and retaining the cup once, compared to six American wins. --The 2008 Ryder Cup will be held at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, KY. September 16th-21st, 2008

Edgewater Sports - 10.15.2008

Edgewater Sports, part of the Edgewater Resort Master Development on Taylorsville Lake, is the largest sports complex of its kind in the State of Kentucky. The state-of-the-art baseball, softball, and soccer facility hosts team tournaments and camps for youth players from around the nation. 2007 Tournaments will be held at Spencer County Parks. I recently attended Edgewater Resort for the announcement of Edgewater Sports. On my morning walks through the property, I was struck by the sanctuary like grounds of the Resort. Hearing the birds at daybreak and seeing the deer at dusk made my stay peaceful and enjoyable. At night time I enjoyed the hot tub to an almost full autumn moon; exaclty what is better than that? Comments from Jeff and Debra W. of Lexington, KY My husband and I just spent a lovely evening at Edgewater Resort and wanted to convey our satisfaction with everything. Thanks to Israel, we had a nice cabin -#38 - with a lovely view of the lake. (We've decided that when we return, unless it's with another couple - due to twin beds in the 2nd bedroom - we'll ask for the same cabin; it was perfect!) We were impressed with the decor of the place as well as such a wonderfully equipped kitchen. We not only plan to return sometime, but also to let our friends know what a great find the resort is. Thanks for all you did to make this a great get away weekend. P.S. What kind of mattress was in the master bedroom? It was so comfortable that we may have to consider the same brand/kind when it's time for us to mattress shop.

Comments: My Husband and I stayed at the resort in September 2007. We wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had. We will definitely be back to see you all soon. It was so beautiful and relaxing, it was just what we needed. Your accommodations exceeded our expectations. Thank you so much. We did have one question. We wanted to ask you what type of mattresses are the King size. It was the best nights sleep we have both had in a long time. Also the headboard was awesome and we would like to purchase something similar for our home. To whom it may concern: I am from Klamath Falls Or. I would like to thank everyone from Edgewater. The hospitality and friendship we received from everyone at Edgewater is amazing. The accommodations are top notch, as well as the entire staff. The shuttle service is to die for. To put up with 6 "almost" gentleman and to take us around And still be smiling, may I say THANK-YOU! I would also like to add, everyone we met in Kentucky are the nicest people we have ever met-----Southern Hospitality really exists. Again, thanks for a great weekend and the Derby is a great ven'ue.
